This guide is here to compile rules about Horned redesigns! If you have any doubt about how to redesign your Hornthropod you can check this to try to find answers to your questions~

This guide is a work in progress so it might be updated from time to time. Everytime this journal is edited it will be announced (with no pings) in the horned-updates channel in our Discord server!

Remember to ALWAYS base your redesign in the absolute original design while redesigning your Hornthropod! You can find the original design in their masterlist entry in the NOTES section.

You can always ask to back to the original design if you'd like, you just need to request it in Masterlist Info and Updates journal in the Updating Masterlist Image section!

If a masterlist image is made by Gosetsuki or LightGem you're free to edit it as you wish!

  • Misplaced Gem placement.

  • Misplaced antennae placement.

OTHER RULES

You can't

  • Remove any original trait from the Hornthropod;

  • Add any trait that isn't listed in Theodore's Item Shop or Ciel's Event Shop (remember you must buy items to add the traits);

  • Add accessories to Hornthropod Gem(s).

Optional Traits

  • If the Hornthropod doesn't have a tongue trait listed on their masterlist it will be round;

  • If the Hornthropod originally was designed without Wings/Elytra/Hair/Spikes/Plates and you'd like to add it you must buy items in Theodore's Item Shop to have it added in your design;

  • If the Hornthropod originally was designed without pawpads and you'd like to add it in the redesign, the pawpads must have the same color as flesh. If the flesh is multicolored you must pick only one color.

  • If the Hornthropod originally was designed without claws and you'd like to add it in the redesign, the claws must have the same color as horns. If the horns are multicolored you must pick only one color.

  • The wings shape will always match the arthropod species the Hornthropod are based on. If they're grubs they will have beetle wings, if they're caterpillars they will have butterfly/moth wings. If the regular arthropod species they're based on don't have wings in real life and you'd like to add wings to your Hornthropod design it must be represented as simple fly wings.

Remember that  the new design must resemble the original design!

Designs can't be too similar to other designs in the masterlist even if both designs are yours or if you have the other owner permission to do something similar. At least gem, horns, claws, flesh and paw pads must have completely different colors. The new design/redesign must have different markings on body and the main body colors must be at least slightly different.

We allow people to create identical twins by having a single masterlist entry but they must be identical! They can have different clothes and personalities tho.

After having your redesign added on the masterlist it can't be separated from the original design (to create a new Hornthropod or even another one off character for example).

That's it! We hope you have fun working on your redesign!
